Retail and e-commerce marketing in Dubai built around sales, footfall and ROAS

Retail and e-commerce marketing in Dubai is the practice of promoting product businesses, online stores, shops and brands across categories like fashion, jewellery, beauty, perfume, electronics and more, through channels like Meta and Instagram Ads, Google Ads and Shopping, SEO and retention, so that shoppers buy. I am Mubin Shaikh, a trade-licensed digital marketing freelancer in Dubai, and I run retail and e-commerce marketing under UAE Trade Licence No. 1618922 and Social Media Advertiser Permit No. 475238. I work with e-commerce and product-based businesses in Dubai, so this is a sector I know directly.

Selling products, whether online, in a shop, or both, is measured on a clear scoreboard: sales, footfall and return on ad spend. Vanity metrics do not pay the bills. Dubai shoppers discover products across Meta, Instagram, Google and marketplaces, they compare and they abandon carts, and for local shopping they check the map and reviews before visiting. A product business wins by combining sharp prospecting, disciplined retargeting, high-intent search and Shopping, strong local visibility where relevant, and retention that brings customers back, all tracked so budget flows to what is genuinely profitable.

This is my retail, e-commerce and consumer hub. Below you will find how the marketing works across channels and product types, the category-specific considerations that matter, and links to every product category I run marketing for, each with its own dedicated page.

The Full Picture

What retail and e-commerce marketing in Dubai actually involves

Across product businesses, the marketing is sales- and ROAS-driven. Meta and Instagram Ads prospect for new customers and retarget those who did not buy, Google Ads and Shopping capture high-intent buyers, local search and Google Business Profile win footfall for shops, SEO builds free traffic, and email and retention increase repeat purchases. Underneath it all sits accurate tracking, so every sale is tied to the channel that produced it.

While each category has its own buyer, price point and best channels, the underlying approach is consistent: drive discovery, capture intent, convert the traffic, and bring customers back, measuring everything by real sales, footfall and ROAS rather than clicks or followers. A clear view of true ROAS and honest optimisation toward it is how a product business grows sustainably.

Non-Negotiable

Authenticity, accurate claims and category rules

Most retail advertising is straightforward, but some rules matter across the cluster. Meta and Google prohibit counterfeit and replica goods, so categories like perfume, watches and sportswear can only advertise authentic products. Health and supplement claims are tightly restricted, so supplements and nutrition require careful, compliant, benefit-led messaging. And across every category, offers, prices, delivery times and product claims must be accurate.

Handling this correctly protects both your ad accounts and your reputation. Each category page sets out its specific considerations, and every campaign is built on authentic products, accurate claims and the relevant platform and UAE rules, because compliant marketing and effective marketing are not opposites when done properly.

Channel By Channel

How each channel drives sales and ROAS

The channel mix depends on the category, but the core levers are consistent. Here is how each one works across product businesses.

Meta and Instagram for discovery and retargeting

Visual, social-first categories like fashion, beauty, jewellery, perfume and abaya lean heavily on Instagram and Meta content and retargeting, where desire and social proof drive discovery. Prospecting finds new customers and disciplined retargeting brings back those who did not buy, all measured on sales and ROAS.

Google Ads and Shopping for ready-to-buy shoppers

High-intent, comparison-driven categories like electronics, watches and supplements lean on Google Search and Shopping, where price positioning, reviews and being present at the moment of intent matter most. Tracking is built around ROAS so budget flows to the products and terms that actually sell.

Local search and footfall for shops

Physical shops and local categories like grocery, pet stores and gifting win with strong local search and a complete Google Business Profile, driving footfall and nearby orders from the people most likely to buy and return.

SEO, conversion and retention: where profit is made

SEO builds free, compounding traffic and helps you appear in AI-driven search across all categories. Then conversion work, product pages, offers, checkout and speed, and retention, email, abandoned-cart, replenishment and loyalty, capture and repeat the sales where much of the profit lies. Driving traffic is only half the job.

Why Work With Me

Why work with Ads with Mubin

I am an independent, trade-licensed digital marketing freelancer, not a large agency, and I work with e-commerce and product-based businesses in Dubai, including building an online catalogue store for a UAE manufacturer. That means I understand both the store and the marketing: tracking, product-page conversion, local visibility, and campaigns built around sales and ROAS. You are not handed to a junior, and your budget is not lost to agency overhead.

I keep a short client list so your business gets genuine attention, and I never take a percentage of your ad spend, which matters when you are watching ROAS closely. Working with one accountable person who understands the whole picture, store, shop and ads, is a real advantage in retail and e-commerce.

Honest Expectations

What results to realistically expect

No honest marketer guarantees a specific ROAS or sales figure, because it depends on your products, margins, pricing and market. What I commit to is accurate tracking, honest optimisation toward the best sustainable ROAS, and transparent reporting. First sales usually come within the first week or two of campaigns going live, and ROAS typically improves over the first one to three months as campaigns, retargeting and retention build. Local shops often see more footfall within the first few weeks.

The realistic path is steady, profitable growth: a clear picture of your true ROAS and customer value, a rising contribution from retargeting, retention and repeat customers, and a store or shop and marketing setup you can trust to scale.

What it costs

Management retainers start at AED 4,999 a month for a focused scope, with a Gold tier at AED 7,499 for businesses running across more channels. Store or tracking build work can be scoped separately. Ad spend is separate, paid directly to the platforms, and never marked up. Three-month minimum, then month to month.

Retail & E-commerce Marketing FAQs

What is retail and e-commerce marketing in Dubai?
Retail and e-commerce marketing in Dubai is promoting product businesses, online stores, shops and brands across categories like fashion, jewellery, beauty, perfume, electronics and more, through channels like Meta and Instagram Ads, Google Ads and Shopping, SEO and retention, so that shoppers buy. It is built around sales, footfall and return on ad spend (ROAS), not vanity metrics.
Which product categories do you cover?
E-commerce and online stores, retail and shops, fashion, jewellery, beauty, furniture, electronics, perfume and fragrance, Amazon and Noon marketplace selling, watches, supermarket and online grocery, baby, kids and toys, abaya and modest fashion, gifts, flowers and chocolates, sportswear and fitness equipment, pet supplies, and health supplements. Each has a dedicated page.
How do product businesses get more sales in Dubai?
The mix depends on the product, but usually Meta and Instagram Ads for discovery and retargeting, Google Ads and Shopping for high-intent buyers, local search and Google Business Profile for shops, SEO for free traffic, and email or retention for repeat purchases. Everything is tracked to sales and ROAS so budget flows to what is profitable.
Do you have experience with retail and e-commerce in Dubai?
Yes. I work with e-commerce and product-based businesses in Dubai, including building an online catalogue store for a UAE manufacturer, so I understand product marketing, store structure, tracking and campaigns built around sales and ROAS.
What is ROAS and why does it matter?
ROAS is return on ad spend, the revenue generated for each dirham spent on ads. It is the core metric in retail and e-commerce because it shows whether the advertising is profitable. Campaigns and tracking are built around ROAS so you can see, and improve, the real return on your budget.
Are there advertising rules I should know about?
Yes. Meta and Google prohibit counterfeit and replica goods, so categories like perfume, watches and sportswear must advertise authentic products only. Supplements and nutrition face strict health-claim rules. And offers, prices, delivery times and product claims must always be accurate. Each category page sets out the specifics.
How much does retail and e-commerce marketing cost in Dubai?
Management retainers start at AED 4,999 a month, with a Gold tier at AED 7,499. Ad spend is separate and never marked up. Most product businesses invest from around AED 6,000 to 30,000 a month in ad spend, depending on the category, margins and growth goals.
How quickly will a product business see sales?
With Meta and Google Ads plus proper tracking, first sales usually come within the first week or two once campaigns are live. ROAS typically improves over the first one to three months as campaigns, retargeting and retention build. Local shops often see more footfall within the first few weeks.
Do you handle online stores, physical shops, or both?
Both. I work with pure online stores, physical shops wanting more footfall, and businesses blending the two with online sales, click-and-collect or WhatsApp ordering. The strategy is tuned to how your business actually sells.
Which platforms do you work with, Shopify or WooCommerce?
Both, and others. I work with Shopify, WooCommerce and common store platforms, setting up tracking correctly so sales data is accurate, and improving product pages and checkout to lift conversion rate alongside driving traffic.
Do you cover marketplaces like Amazon and Noon?
Yes. There is a dedicated Amazon and Noon page covering listing optimisation, marketplace ads, reviews and external traffic, and marketplace work can run alongside your own store.
Do you guarantee a specific ROAS or sales figure?
No, and be cautious of anyone who does. ROAS depends on your products, pricing, margins and market, which I do not control. I commit to proper tracking, honest optimisation toward the best sustainable ROAS, and transparent reporting.
Do I deal with you directly or an account manager?
You deal with me directly, Mubin Shaikh. There is no account manager in between and no junior handling your account. One person plans, runs and reports on everything.
Is there a long contract or lock-in?
No long lock-in. The minimum is three months so the work has time to show results, and after that it is month to month.
How do you charge, and is ad spend included?
I charge a flat monthly management fee starting at AED 4,999. Your ad spend is separate, stays in your own accounts, and is billed directly by the platforms. I never mark up ad spend or take a percentage of it.
Why don't you take a percentage of ad spend?
Because charging a percentage creates an incentive to push your budget higher whether or not it helps. A flat fee keeps my advice honest: I recommend the spend that makes sense for you, not for my invoice.
How often will I get reports?
You get clear reporting on a regular schedule covering sales, revenue, ROAS, footfall and enquiries, plus what was done and what is next, in plain language rather than jargon.
What do you need from me to get started?
Access to your relevant accounts and store, a short conversation about your products and goals, and any existing assets like your logo and product images. I handle the technical setup from there.
What languages do you work in?
I work in English and Hindi, which covers most business communication in Dubai. Customer-facing campaigns and content can be produced in English and Arabic, with Arabic handled through trusted native support where needed.
Are you licensed to run advertising in the UAE?
Yes. Ads with Mubin holds UAE Trade Licence No. 1618922 and Social Media Advertiser Permit No. 475238, so I can issue proper invoices and legally run paid advertising in the UAE, which many informal freelancers cannot.
